Found in Vietnam on trees or on granite in very west mossy primary forests at elevations of 1100 to 2200 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with a creeping, rigid rhizome giving rise to ovoid to cylindrical ovoid, with .4 to 1.3" [1 to 3 cm] between each, irregularily wrinkled with age pseudobulbs carrying 2, narrowly elliptic, slightly broadening towards the acute apex, coriaceous, many nerved, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a hysteranthous, peduncle rigid, erect, naked at the base, 6 to 10.8" [15 to 27 cm] long, imbricate bracts between the peduncle and the rachis, rachis erect, zig-zag, 2.4 to 4.4" [6 to 11 cm] long, 5 to 11 flowered inflorescence carrying more or less simultaneously opening flowers with decidous floral bracts.
