Common Name The Gunung Malintang Coelogyne [A Volcano in Sumatra]

Flower Size 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm]

Found in northern and western Sumatra on trees and brush in upper mantane forests at elevations of 1400 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a strong, elongated, branched rhizome giving rise to somewhat cylindric pseudobulbs carrying 2, lanceolate, acute-acuminate, 5 nerved prominent beneeath, narrowing below gently into the grooved petiolate base leaves tyhat blooms in the summer on a synanthous, erect, peduncle bare, thickening towards the apex, 1.88 to 4" [4.7 to 10 cm] long, rachis zig-zag, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, simultaneously, laxly 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence carrying yellowish green to flesh colored flowers
