Found on Palawan in the Philippines at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte witha sturdy rhizome giving rise to close set, elongate, when dry strongly sulcate pseudobulb carrying 2, erect, narrowly ellipti-lanceolate, base and apex gradually tapering leaves that blooms in the spring on a synanthous, peduncle enveloped by young scales and developing leaves , 6.8 to 8" [17 to 20 cm] long overall, simultaneously 5 flowered inflorescence with persistent, boat shaped floral bracts.
