Found in Thailand at elevations around 1650 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with a creeping terete, woody rhizome enveloped by papery persistent, imbricating sheaths and giving rise to distant, 1.2 to 2.8" [3 to 7 cm] between each ovoid, elongate, 4 to 5 ribbed pseudobulb enveloped by chartaceous, imbricating, enlarged shaeths and carrying 2, apical, erect, subcoriaceous, elliptic oblong to lanceoalte, acute to acuminate, 5 nerved, prominent mid rib benath, narrowing blow into the channeled petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer on a basal, hysteranthous, curved, 7.2 to 13.2" [18 to 33 cm] long, peduncel slender, terete 4.6 to 9.4" [11.5 to 23.5 cm] long, rachis arched, .8 to 2.8" [2 to 7 cm] long, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with 9 to 13 persistent, imbricate, leathery scale bracts and carrying showy, simultaneously opening, resupinate flowers.
