Common Name The Sulcate Coelogyne [refers to the grooved surface of the lip]

Found on Mindanao island within the Philippines at elevations of 600 to 900 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with close set, pear-shaped pseudobulbs with persistent sheaths and carrying 2, leathery, oblong to lanceolate, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, longer than the leaves, 8" [20 cm] long, successively 1 to 4, to 10 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers .
