Common Name The Delicate Coelogyne [refers to the threadlike nature of the inflorescence]

Found in Sarawak and Kalimantan Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as small sized, warm growing epiphyte with on a short rhizome giving rise to clustered, conical-elongate pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, 5 to 7 nerved, oblong to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate-acute, gradually narrowing below into a grooved, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a hysteranthous, bare, thread-like, thickened towards the apex, pendulous, zig-zag, to 4.8" [12 cm] long, successively few to many flowered inflorescence.
