Common Name Tioman Coelogyne [Island Near Penninsular Malaysia]

Found on Tioman island off penninsular Malaysia in montane dwarf forests at elevations of 600 to 1100 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with 1.2" [3 cm] between each, ovoid pseudobulb and carrying a single, apical, lanceolate, acuminate to mucronate, plicate, 2 nerved, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, to 12" [to 30 cm] long, fractiflex rachis, 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly emerging growth with ovate-oblong, acuminate, deciduous floral bracts and carrying flowers that open in succession
