Common Name or Meaning The Modest Collabium

Flower Size 3/4" [1.8 cm]

Found in penninsular Malaysia, Java, Borneo and Sumatra in hill and lower montane forests at elevations of 500 to 1900 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to 1 to 3 somewhat quadrangular and apically narrowed pseudobulbs carrying a single, elliptic-oblong, shortly acuminate, purple in youth and then light sea-green with darker green blotches, marginally undulate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves and then a cylindrical pseudobulb that carries a basal, 10 to 22" [25 to 55 cm] long, successively single, many flowered inflorescence with the flowers held at the apex and having, long-triangular floral bracts occuring in the summer.
