Colombia is a magical land, impossibly grandiose landscapes, unsurpassed visible flora and fauna. A country of great extremes. High mountains, deep valleys, rainforests and deserts, sweltering hot and ice cold, rich and poor. all rolled into one smaller country that takes a lifetime to know well.

My wife of 30 years, Carmenza is from Bogata' Colombia and I get to visit often. My last visit was with another friend in May of 2006. We were going with the intent to see my orchid friends and get to orchid areas.
