Found in Antioquia department of Colombia at elevations around 1700 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to cylindrical, somewhat compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, coriaceous, ligulate, obtuse, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms on a thin, pendent, aruate-decurved, peduncle 6.4 to 10" [16 to 25 cm] long, rachis to 4.8" [12 cm] long, 7 to 12 flowered inflorescence with patent, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
