Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on shady, lichen covered, large vertical rock faces in very dry locations at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing lithophyte with rounded, rugose, decurrent with the ground pseudobulbs enveloped by imbricating sheaths in youth and carrying 2, apical, opposite, lanceolate, coriaceous, acute, cordiform leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, from the apex of the pseudobulb, .16" [4 mm] long, single flowered inflorescence
