Common Name Robert's Cooktownia [Australian Discoverer of species current] - In Australia The Mystery Orchid

Flower Size .28 to .3" [.7 to .75 cm]

Found in northern Queensland in open forests on ridges and slopes among grass at elevations of 300 to 500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with 2 ground hugging, oblong, obtuse, dark green overlapping basally leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, thin, wiry, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence .
