Found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania at elevations of 10 to 1000 meters in moist heath and shrubby woodlands to sheltered areas in open forests as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with a globose tuber giving rise to a very short stem carrying a single, basal, cordate, round, apically bilobed leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on a short, single flowered inflorescence with the flower sitting on the leaf.
