Found in New Zealand in lowland to subalpine, mixed native forests mostly on damp shaded stream banks as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a sessile, triangular, acuminate, reddish veined, wavy margin leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring on an erect, short, single flowered inflorescence
