Found in New Guinea at elevations around 2100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a broadly ovate, cordate, aristate-apiculate leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, sessile, single flowered inflorescence with a lanceolate-subulate, acuminate bract.

Schlechter states that the flowers are pale whitish with purple stripes.
