Found in New Guinea at elevations around 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing terrestrial with a broadly ovate, deeply cordate, acuminate, pale green with rose red veining, leaf that blooms in the winter on an erect, sessile, single flowered inflorescence with a lanceolate-subulate floral bract.

Schlechter states that the flowers are dark purple and the center of the lip has a rose red colored mirror and at the margin of each side a rose red spot
