Found in the Nieuwoudtville area of Cape Province, South Africa on flat seasonally wet, clay-loam soils at elevations of 700 to 800 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a subrobust stem carrying 7 or so, erect-spreading, lanceolate, grading smaller above leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, erect, to 3.2" [8 cm] long, subdense, 23 to 33 flowered inflorescence and carries flowers that have a strong scent.
