Found on the north island of New Zealand in lowland to sub-alpine, Beech and Tea-Tree forests as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial without leaves that blooms in the winter through earlier spring on a short, erect, single flowered inflorescence that barely emerges through the leaf mold
