Found in Amazonas state of Venezuela in ant nests on branches along river banks] in humid forests at elevations of 100 to 200 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid, ribbed pseudobulbs carrying plicate, soft, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a basal, pendulous, elongate, peduncle slender, provided with short, remote, tubular-infundibuliform, to 12" [30 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying a pink flower with the hypochile dark wine red and membraneous tepals.
