Common Name The Striking Coryanthes
Flower Size
Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 100 to 600 meters as a medium szied, hot to warm growing epiphyte with oblong, attenuate above, deeply sulcate pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, plicate, linear, acute leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a pendent, to 36" [80 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
This species is often found in conjunction with ants and may benefit from their presence
Most likely is a synonym of C speciosa but I have left it separate pending more investigation.
