Found in Amazonas state of Brazil at elevations around 50 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte with lance shaped, deeply sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 2 to 3 papery, acute sheaths and carrying 2, apical, elliptic, acute, plicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a basal, first ascending then arching, to 16" [40 cm] long, pprovided with 5 bracts, 2 flowered inflorescence with oval, much shorter than the pedicel,
