Common Name or Meaning The Pedunculate Cottonia

Found in India and Sri Lanka in tropical dry mixed evergreen forests and in tropical savannahs by strems or on rocks at elevations of sealevel to 600 meters as a large to giant sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or occasional lithophyte with elongate stems carrying many, rather leathery, linear, obtuse, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect, to 5' [to 150 cm] long, usually sparsely branched, densely racemose towards the apex inflorescence with successive, foul smelling, long-lived flowers
