Common Name The Antioquia Cranichis [A department of Colombia where the orchid occurs]

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador at elevations around 1500 to 3500 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 1 to 2 basal, suberect, ovate, subacuminate, shortly cordate basally, glabrous, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, thick, 3.2 to 4" [8 to 10 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.

The photos by Karl Senghas are absolutely correct, the photo by Alex Reynolds without hairy petals and with the longer lip is suspect as it came from Peru where to date the species has not been recorded according to references available to me at this time.
