Common Name Castellanos' Cranichis [Argentinian Collector of the type 1900's]

Found in ? Bolivia and Jujuy department of Argentina in rainforests as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of usually 2 to 3, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate with an obtuse to acute tip, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, pseudo-petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, peduncle 4" [10 cm] long, provided with 2 to 3 membraneous, somewhat foliaceous, funnel-shaped sheaths, curly glandular-hairy above, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying all the non-resupinate flowers held in an apical clyindrical bottle-brush-like head.
This species can be separated from others by having, long, thick, moniliform cilia on the outer margin of the petals.
