Common Name Castellanos' Cranichis

Flower Size 1/4" [6 mm]

Found in Bolivia, Paraguay, southern Brazil and north west Argentina in rainforests as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of ovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, 6" [15 cm] long overall, peduncle with 2 to 3 membraneous, somewhat foliaceous, funnel-shaped sheaths, to 4" [10 cm] long, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with all the non-resupinate flowers held in an apical clyindrical bottle-brush-like head.
