Found in Putumayo department of Colombia in wet montane forests at elevations of 2600 meters as a meedium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2, elliptic, acuminate, crenate and undulate margins petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, terminal, peduncle to 12.8" [32 cm] long, glabrous below, provided with 3 to 4, tubular sheaths above, rachis 2.8" [7 cm] long, sparsely cliate, laxly many flowered inflorescence with with lanceolate, obtuse, glabrous, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers

Unique in the genus for the crenulate-undulate leaves.
