Found in Haiti on hills at elevations around 1650 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with a few basal, ovate-elliptic, acute to acuminate, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, glabrous, to 12" [30 cm] long, sublaxly many flowered inflorescence with a few leaf-like sheaths and lanceolate, acuminate, externally sparsely hirsute floral bracts. "Superficially similar to C fertilis but is easily distinguished because the C fertilis is missing the two green nipples at the bottom of the labellum and on the column." Dod 1986
