Found in Durango state of Mexico in pine/oak forests at elevations around 2400 meters as a miniature sized, inconspicuous, cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 3, basal, in a rosette, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute, carinate, smooth, canaliculate into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, peduncle 3 to 4" [7.5 to 10 cm] long, glandular-pubescent, provided with 3 to 4, hairless sheathing bracts, rachis 1.6" [4.5 cm] long, cylindrical, densely, successively 9 to 13 flowered [not all open at any one time] inflorescence with amplexicaul, subquadrate-triangular, acuminate, as long as to a bit longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, nonresupinate, ascending, whitish green flowers with the floral parts erect.

"Cranichis georginae resembles C. tolimanensis but differs from it in the following features: erect leaves, petiole .16 to .32" [4 to 8 mm] long; inflorescence with nine to thirteen flowers; Floral bract subsquadrate-triangular, ca. .24" [6 mm] long, glandular-pubescent; acuminate sepals; linear, acute petals, .2 to .22" [5 to 5.5 mm] long, .02 to .024" [.5 to .6 mm] wide and labellum with a short, inconspicuous truncated, elliptical nail; front of the middle contracts at the triangular, obtuse-rounded central lobe, .1" [2.5 mm] long, .12" [3 mm] wide, with three ribs, the two lateral hyaline, the central one light green all over the length."
