Found in Matto Grosso and Distrito Federal Brazil as a medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with 3 to 6, basal, coriaceous, shiny, reddish green above, paler beneath, obovate, undulate margin, acute, attenuate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a terminal, erect, peduncle with 8 to 9 longly amplexicaul, lanceolate, acuminate sheaths, 5.2 to 8.4" [13 to 21 cm] long, rachis more or less cylindrical, 2.8 to 3.6" [7 to 9 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with patent, lanceolate, acuminate, single nerved, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
