Common Name The Long-Petiolate Cranichis [refers to the long petioles of the leaf]

Found in Ecuador and Peru in wet montane cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 2500 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with elliptical, dark green, abruptly narrowing below into the long petiolate leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, non-foliaceous, 8" [20 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with a few spaced glabrous bracts
