Common Name or Meaning The Large Lashed Cranichis

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Ecuador on the eastern coast at elevations up to 800 metersas a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with 1 to 2, basal, ovate-elliptic, acute, more or less rounded below intothe short petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, peduncle remotely 3 sheathed, to 8" [20 cm] long, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, dense, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, acuminate floral bracts.

Distinguished by the non-foliaceous peduncle, the green leaves, the cilate margin petals, the glabrous ovary, the cymbiform lip with an upcurved apex, and the disc with 3 parellel, unbranched veins.
