Common Name or Meaning The Woods Loving Cranichis

Found in Colombia and Venezuela at elevations of 1450 to 1750 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with 2 basal, ovate-lanceolate to elliptic, acute to shortly acuminate, cuneate below into the petiolaat base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, to 16" [40 cm] long peduncle, rachis to 3" [7.5 cm] long, rather laxly many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous floral bracts. Similar to C ciliata but this one differs in the long-petiolate leaves, the narrowly elliptic-obovate, obtuse dorsal sepal, the lip cuneate at the base and with undulate margins, and floral braacts that are shorter than the ovary.
