Common Name The Talamanca Cranichis [A cordillera of Mountains in Costa Rica]

Flower Size

Found in Limon province of Costa Rica in oak forest in valleys at elevations of 2350 to 2450 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 4, near basal, ovate to ovate-elliptic, elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, peduncle 7 to 10" [17.5 to 25 cm] long, provided with several. lowermost foliaceous, sheathing bracts, rachis 1 to 2" [2.5 to 5 cm] long, glandular-puberulent, densely many flowered inflorescence with elliptic-lanceolate, as long as to a bit longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying white flowers with the sepals brownish green, the with lip greenish brown veins.
