Found in Holguin and Santiago de Cuba provinces of Cuba at elevations below 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with 2, basal, one larger than the other, ovate-cordate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, terminal, peduncle 10" [25 cm] long, provided with 4, distant, apically free, sheathing bracts, rachis 2" [5 cm] long, laxly several flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary floral bracts
