Found in Colombia in pluvial subparamo and wet montane forests at el;evations of 2000 to 2800 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 1 to 2, basal, triangular-ovate, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring through late summer on a terminal, erect, delicate, glabrous below, , densely glandular above, distantly 3 to 5 sheathed, peduncle to 15.2" [38 cm] long, rachis to 4.8" [12 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous floral bracts and carrying small, inconspicous flowers.
