Found in Sao Tome' in The Gulf Of Guinea Islands in montane mist forests at elevations of 1700 to 2050 meters as a small sized, cool growing, monopodial epiphyte with a pendulous stem carrying a few distichous, strap-shaped leaves and blooms on a basal, few flowered inflorescence that occurs in the spring in cultivation.
