TYPE Drawing by © Ormerod redrawn by K Winkiewicz
Common Name Guarin's Crossoglossum [Colombian original collector of the species current]
Flower Size
Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia presumably from montane forests without elevational data as a small to medium sized presumed terrestrial with an erect stem carrying laxly, 6, obovate-elliotic, obtuse, shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, peduncle 5.2 to 2.4" [6cm] long, rachis to 13.6" [34 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with subulate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying flowers with greenish-yellow sepals, and a brownish lip.
Recognized by the very wide, obovate-elliptic leaves; otherwise it is close to C liparidioides which has narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate and a less than half as long inflorescence with smaller flowers.
