Found in Napo, Pastaza and Carchi provinces of Ecuador and Pasco department of Peru in montane forests at elevations around 1000 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a prostrate, terete rhizome giving rise to an erect, terete stem carrying 6 to 11, oblong-lanceolate, acute, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, peduncle to 4 to 4.8" [10 to 12 cm] long, rachis to 12 to 16" [30 to 40 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate to lanceolate, acute, shorter to longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying green flowers.
Similar to C tipuloides but it is unclear if they may be the same, needs more research. Szlach & Kolan 2023
