Common Name or Meaning The Yellow Crytochilus - In China Su Bao Lan

Flower Size 1.5 to 1/4" [3 to 8 mm]

Found in Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam and Yunnan China on tree trunks in sparse woods or at forest margins at elevations of 1500 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with clustered, cylindrical pseudobulbs enveloped by imbricating sheaths and carrying 2, narrowly elliptic, acute, fleshy, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a slender, glabrous, to 8.8" [to 22 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with alternate, prominent, linear-lanceolate, acute floral bracts carrying 2 ranked flowers.
