Found in Madagascar in humid forests at elevations of sealevel to 1300 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphytic orchid with an elongate stem carrying heavily veined sheaths and elliptical, obtuse at both ends leaves that blooms in the late summer on a 1 to 4 branched, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long inflorescence arising from the sheaths and carrying 3 to 10 apical flowers on each branch.
