This epiphytc species is found in northern Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations around 2000 to 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short, repent rhizome giving rise to obclavate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 8 to 10, distchous, articulate, basally conduplicate, foliaecous above sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect, loriform, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on 1 to 2, axillary, erect, 80" [200 cm] long overall, peduncle with 2 to 3, adpressed, triagular bracts, paniculate, green with dark purple spots, short branched, divaricate, each 2 to 4 flowered, many flowered inflorescence with triangular floral bracts.
