Common Name Gertrude's Cyanicula - The Pale China Orchid

Flower Size .8 to 2" [2 to 5 cm]

Found as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing, terrestrial species in Western Australia at elevations of sea level to 150 meters in a narrow strip of coastal and scrub forests on swales between stabilized dunes in well drained sand with a prostrate, hairy on raised bumps, greenon both sides leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, erect, pubescent, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence carrying sweetly scented flowers. Flowers after fire passes through.
