Found in Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 1400 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with cyclindric-fusiform pseudobulbs carrying numerous, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, thin-textured, plicate, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later spring on 1 to 3, arching-pendant, to 24" [to 60 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers
