Common Name The Elegant Cyclopogon [refers to the leaves]
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in Sao Paulo state of Brazil and northern Argentina at elevations around 1200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with a few basal, ovate, acute to acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, erect, thin, 12" [30 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with 2, well spaced, lanceolate acute bracts and shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
"Similar to Cyclopogon iguapensis but differs in the very different color of the leaves which as a rule are dark green with 3 white stripes running lengthwise. The greenish flowers have slightly pinkish, yellowish tips on the sepals and petals and a white labellum at the base and apex crossed by 3 green lines." Hoehne 1945
