Common Name The Brown Flowered Cyclopogon

Found in Puntarenas province of Costa Rica and Carabobo state of Venezuela along rivers at elevations around 1100 to 1500 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with 2, in a basal rosette, ovate to elliptic-lanceolate, widest below the middle, subobtuse, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, peduncle 11.8" [29.5 cm] long, sparsely glandular above the leaves, provided with acute, herbaceous, thin, glabrous, shorter than the internodes sheathing bracts, rachis 5" [12.5 cm] long, subsecund, sublax, to 20 flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acute, single nerve, herbaceous, minutely ciliate at the base and along the margins, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, tubular, shallow, saccate base, subsessile, brown flowers.

"Similar to Cyclopogon inaequilaterus but differs in the rounded basal lobes of the hypochile, the transversally oval epichile, notched a tthe apex abd by the thickened apices of the dorsal sepal and petalss. Yjr flowers of C fuscofloris are twice as large as Cyclopogon polyaden." Szlach 1995
