Found in Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay as a small to medium sized, warm growing terrestrial orchid with several, erect, elliptic, obtuse to acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a terminal, erect, 12" [30 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, well spaced bracts and longer than the ovary floral bracts
