Found in Guatemala and Costa Rica in wet forests at elevations of 1300 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with basal, in a rosette, glabrous, herbaceous, broadly elliptic, acute to obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a slender, erect, terminal, to 14" [35 cm] long, overall, rachis 2" [5 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with longer than the flowers floral bracts.
