Found in southern Brazil and Uruguay as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette, 6 to 8, erect-patent, oblong-lanceolate, acute, subsessile below into the base leaves that blooms on a terminla, erect, 8 to 10.8" [20 to 27 cm] long overall, peduncle with a few basal bracts, long pilose, rachis to 3.6 to 4" [9 to 10 cm] long, successively many flowered inflorescence.
