Common Name or Meaning The Borneo Cymbidium

Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]

Found in Borneo in lowland forests to lower montane forests in humus rich soils over limestone often near streams at elevations of 100 to 1300 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with fusiform pseudobulbs enveloped completely by distichous, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying linear-ligulate, acute, arching, slightly coriaceous, atriculated up to 5" above the base leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, erect then arching to pendant, 6.4 to 7.2" [16 to 18 cm] long, 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence with 3 to 5 distant, amplexicaul bracts and narrowly ovate, acute floral bracts carrying coconut scented flowers arising in the summer and fall in situ.
