Common Name The Gaoligong Mountain Cymbidium - In China Jin Chan Lan

Flower Size 3.8 to 4.2" [7 to 8 cm]

Found in western Yunnan province of China on trees in forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a large sized, cool growing epiphyte with ellipsoid-ovoid to narrowly ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying 6 to 11, distichous basally, lorate, leathery, articulate, 3.2 to 4.4" [8 to 11 cm] from the base, acuminate apically leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, suberect to arching, 26 to 40" [65 to 100 cm] long, usually 8 to 10 flowered inflorescence with 8 to 10 bracts below the middle and ovate-triangular floral bracts and carrying fragrant, widely opening flowers

Some sources say this is a hybrid of C tracyanum and C erythraeum
