Found in Manipur state of India in dense leaf litter of pine needles and Oak leaves in semi deciduous forest at elevations around 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a subterranean, white to pale yellow, cylindric rhizome giving rise to 2 to 3, emerging while the plant is in full bloom and attaining full grow th after flow ering, w hite, achlorophyllous, lorate, acute-acuminate leaves that blooms in the fall arising from the apical node of the rhizome, erect, white, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long overall, slender, peduncle 4.8 to 5.6" [12 to 14 cm] long, provided with 4 to 5 white, close set sheaths, rachis 2.8 to 4" [7 to 10 cm] long, lax, 3 to 6 flowered inflorescence with white, lanceolate-oblong, obtuse to subacute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts
